This week was study week and although I was glad to have a break I decided to finish the draft of this assignment as soon as possible do that my peer can review it. By the Monday I had posted my draft online and finished the first three blogs and felt proud of the progress so far. When the peer reviews came up I felt nervous, not because someone was judging my work but because I was judging someone else's. I was worried that I would mark it and not see anything wrong with it or that my work would seem different to what there ideas where. After checking my peers website for 2 days waiting for their assignment to be posted it was finally available on Thursday the same day in which mine was marked by a peer.

My results were fine and I could see where I needed to moderate it and that I had forgot to spell check the last couple of blogs. All round I was happy to make the changes they suggested and feel that it is almost complete. The thing I am worried about most is that they told me to refer to the readings that are in the book. I have unfortunately not been able to read the book yet as a friend who owns them has not been able to meet with me yet. I look forward to reading those chapters and how they are relevant to what we are doing in class. I will hopefully have the book early next week and can do a blog about my findings.
When doing my peer review I was so worried about marking too easy, but the real problem I had in the end was feeling as though I was marking too hard. The person whose work I had marked did not seem to meet the criteria that was stated in the marking rubric and I wanted to give her the feedback that she needed so that when she submits the assignment it reaches that criteria. Honestly I woke up the next morning feeling slightly bad for the mark I gave her but if she can fix up the problems that I had with it then she will hopefully achieve a better mark then what she would have. I realise this is something I will have to get used to in the future as marking students work will be in the job description but I hope that my feedback benefits her and she gets a good grade in the end same with the students I have in the future.
