As this week was the Easter break there have been no lectures or workshops to complete. I decided to continue to research for resources for my assignment. I used Google to find a website that went into detail about why computers are important in a drama classroom with is where I was able to find a website for a New South Wales department of Education and Communities that has a page included about what can be achieved with a laptop in the drama classroom which otherwise could not be accomplished. I feel the ideas that this website had would be very effective to use in a classroom and would definitely help with reflecting on drama related performances and research.
I began my search for a video about technology in a drama classroom but was unable to find one that was educational rather then for fun. So I looked for a conference paper instead which I found on Google. I was able to find a conference paper from Kim Flintoff a Perth Drama teacher who discusses with the others where technology can be effective with teaching drama. I found it interesting to see how technology can be use before, during, after and in drama performances. I recall using my computer at home to research tips that would be useful for the play to make it seem more realistic but having a computer in the classroom with me would have allowed me to look up the information there so I could put it into practice at that time.
I have decided that I will try to find any newspaper articles that discuss teaching drama with technology in the classroom. As I feel that drama is sometimes not seen as important because it is not a main subject. Drama is an elective subject in which students have the choice to participate in but I think it can sometimes teach you more than other subjects.
