Blog Five
This week classes were back on campus. Our lecture began by discussing the assignment that is due on Friday and how we are all going with it. Continuing on from lecture three we discussed authentic learning in more detail and how being an authentic teacher can help the students to gain more knowledge and remember the information that they received from the class. We then discussed the next assignment that is due in week 10 which focuses on referencing and using Endnote. I have been using Endnote since last year and although I use it for assignments I still do not feel confident in it referencing correctly as I am so used to doing it all manually. I feel that after this assignment I will definitely feel more confident in using it in the future of uni life.
In the workshops we discussed the peer reviews and whether we had all completed them. I was shocked by the amount of students that had not been able to do their reviews because their peer had not uploaded the work that required. It made me feel very grateful that I had a peer that completed theirs before the due date so I was able to focus on updating my assignment.
At home I have continued to work on my assignment and looking at the marking rubric to be certain that my assignment and blog matches the criteria. I also asked my sister if she could give me any ideas to make it better and she suggested I elaborate on the peer contribution part of the assignment and if I could somehow highlight the screen captures then my instructions would seem more detailed. I also continued to look at my peer review and how I could turn those credits into something higher.
I am just about to submit my assignment and to be honest I feel very proud of the work I have achieved over the last few weeks. This assignment has taught me how to use twitter which is something I have always been interested about as I see it on news programs such as Sunrise and it taught me how to change word documents into PDF files and also how to use all the effects that Yola has to offer. This assignment was both challenging and rewarding but I feel more confident in myself handling technology by the day.
