Assignment 2: Research Technologies.
This Assignment is based on using different research databases to find resources that discuss ways that technology can be used in a drama classroom to enhance students learning and education. I have used 4 different databases which are the Murdoch University Library Database, Google Scholar, Google and Youtube to find these sources which I have then referenced using the Endnote program.
Process: I have always had an interest in drama and creative arts throughout my schooling so I was very interested in using this assignment to discover how technology is used in a drama classroom for educational purposes. I started by looking for a book uing the Google Scholar database as I had never used before therefore I was interested to see how it worked. There I was able to find a book that went into great detail about why technology is so important to students learning in the drama classroom. Next I used the Murdoch University Library database to find a journal article, being able to eliminate everything but journal articles made it easier to find one that had the best information. I used google to find a conference paper and I was satisfied when I found one by Perth drama teacher Kim Flintoff, who discussed the uses of technology before, during and after a performance in drama. After searching through many videos I finally found one of YouTube. This video was created by a drama teacher who discussed how she uses technology in her classroom to encourage her students to participate. I decided to find one more source from the Murdoch University Library database which is where I found an article from a newspaper from New York that reported on 2 online programs that are being used by students to help them to learn drama in a more effective and educational way. Using Endnote: Endnote is the computer program that I used to help me reference where I found my information for this assignment. I used APA 6 reference style to list them correctly in my report.
